What's Your Mark?

Devotional
In a world obsessed with identity markers - from social media profiles to designer labels - there's one mark that should distinguish every follower of Christ. It's not a physical symbol or religious badge, but something far more powerful and transformative. Jesus himself established this identifier during his final hours with his disciples, calling it a new commandment that would prove to the world who truly belongs to him. This mark isn't about what we wear or display externally, but about what flows from our hearts consistently. It's the mark of love - not the fleeting emotion we often mistake for love, but the deliberate, sacrificial choice to seek another's good regardless of circumstances. When we examine our daily interactions, our responses to frustration, and our treatment of those who disagree with us, what mark are we displaying? Are we known for our criticism, our complaints, or our political opinions? Or are we marked by the unmistakable signature of Christ's love? This week, we'll explore how love becomes our identifying mark and transforms not just how others see us, but how we see ourselves and our purpose in this world.

Bible Verse
'So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.' - John 13:34 (New Living Translation)

Reflection Question

When people interact with you regularly, what would they say is your most identifying characteristic?

Quote
The mark is the identifier because it tells the system, if you will, who you belong to or what team you're playing for, right?

Prayer
Lord, help me examine my heart and see what mark I'm truly displaying to the world. Transform me from the inside out so that love becomes my defining characteristic.
