It's Not Too Late

Devotional
Maybe as you've read this week, you've realized that your relationship with God has grown casual. Perhaps your prayers have become routine, your worship halfhearted, or your attention to His Word sporadic. You might be feeling discouraged, thinking you've drifted too far or that it's too late to change. Here's the beautiful truth: if there's breath in your lungs, it's not too late. God's heart toward you hasn't changed, even if yours has grown distant. He's not standing with His arms crossed, waiting for you to grovel your way back. He's like the father in the prodigal son story, watching the horizon, ready to run toward you the moment you turn His direction. God doesn't just point out problems; He offers solutions. He doesn't just convict; He also restores. The same God who confronted the Israelites about their casual worship also promised that if they would return to Him, He would return to them. He promised to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings they couldn't contain. Returning to radical honor doesn't require a dramatic overhaul of your entire life overnight. It starts with small, sincere steps: a genuine prayer, intentional worship, opening His Word with expectancy, or simply acknowledging that you want more than casual Christianity. This new year can be a fresh start. You don't have to carry the weight of past spiritual failures or the guilt of casual faith. God is ready to meet you right where you are and help you build the authentic, honoring relationship He's always desired with you.
Bible Verse
'Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return?' - Malachi 3:7
Reflection Question
What one small step can you take today to begin returning to a more authentic, honoring relationship with God?
Quote
If there's breath in your lungs, that means it ain't too late.
Prayer
Lord, thank You that it's never too late to return to You. I don't want to live with casual faith anymore. Help me take the first steps back to authentic relationship with You. Give me the courage to be honest about where I am and the hope to believe that You're ready to meet me there. I choose to honor You with my whole heart. Amen.
