Stay In The Spirit

Devotional
Here's a crucial truth: you can't help someone in the flesh while operating in the flesh yourself. If someone's anger triggers your anger, or their gossip draws you into gossip, you're not restoring—you're joining the problem. The key to effective restoration is staying grounded in the Spirit while reaching out to those caught in fleshly struggles. This requires spiritual maturity and self-awareness. We must recognize our own triggers and weaknesses, keeping our hearts anchored in God's love and truth. When we respond from the Spirit—with patience, gentleness, and wisdom—we create an environment where real change can happen. But when we react from the flesh, we often make situations worse. This is why restoration work requires prayer, preparation, and a deep dependence on God's strength rather than our own emotions or reactions.

Bible Verse
'Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.' - Galatians 5:25

Reflection Question
What situations or people tend to pull you into fleshly reactions, and how can you better prepare to respond in the Spirit?

Quote
The best way to help somebody that's in the flesh is restore them by staying in the Spirit. If somebody's in the flesh and their flesh takes me in the flesh, guess what? I'm not restoring anyone.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, keep me grounded in You when I encounter difficult situations. Help me respond with Your wisdom rather than my emotions.
