No More Excuses

Devotional
We live in a culture of excuses. "I was born this way." "It's just my personality." "You don't understand my background." While our past experiences shape us, they don't have to define our future. The resurrection of Jesus changed everything, including our relationship with sin and limitation. When Christ rose from the dead, He broke every chain that once held us captive. This means we can't keep using our upbringing, our natural tendencies, or our circumstances as reasons to stay stuck in destructive patterns. Yes, you may have been born with certain inclinations, but you've been born again with new possibilities. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, giving you the ability to overcome what once seemed impossible. This isn't about condemnation; it's about liberation. You're no longer a victim of your past or a prisoner of your genetics. You have access to divine power that can transform any area of your life. The question isn't whether change is possible - it's whether you're ready to stop making excuses and start walking in your new identity.

Bible Verse

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. - Ephesians 2:1 (King James Version)

Reflection Question
What excuse have you been using to avoid taking responsibility for growth in a particular area of your life?

Quote
Well, you were born that way, but now you've been born again. If we're born again, there's no excuse.

Prayer
God, forgive me for making excuses instead of embracing the power You've given me. Help me walk in the freedom You've provided through Christ's resurrection. Amen.
