A Message From Heaven

Devotional
Have you ever received a message that completely changed your perspective? Maybe it was a text from a friend, a call from family, or news that shifted everything. Paul received the ultimate life-changing message - not from any human source, but directly from Jesus Christ himself. In a world flooded with opinions, advice, and competing voices, it's easy to get confused about what's actually true. Social media feeds us endless perspectives, friends offer well-meaning counsel, and culture constantly shifts its definitions of right and wrong. But Paul reminds us that the gospel stands apart from all human wisdom and invention. The message of salvation didn't originate in a boardroom, wasn't crafted by marketing experts, and wasn't designed to appeal to popular opinion. It came straight from the heart of God. This divine origin means something profound: the gospel doesn't need our improvements, our cultural updates, or our modifications to make it more palatable. Think about the most beautiful sunset you've ever witnessed. You wouldn't try to 'improve' it with a marker, would you? The gospel is like that sunset - perfect in its divine design. When we encounter this message from heaven, we're not meeting human philosophy or religious tradition. We're encountering the very words of God himself. This should give us incredible confidence. In a world where everything seems uncertain and constantly changing, we have a message that comes from the unchanging God. It's not subject to cultural trends, political shifts, or popular opinion. It's as reliable today as it was when Paul first received it on that desert road.
Bible Verse
'I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it. Rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.' - Galatians 1:11-12
Reflection Question
In what areas of your life are you tempted to trust human wisdom over God's revealed truth, and how might recognizing the divine source of the gospel change your perspective on those situations?
Quote
That message is both too simple and too magnificent for any man's wisdom to have invented it. It is a message beyond our mortal limitations. It is a message that could only come from the mind of God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for not leaving us to figure out salvation on our own. Help me to trust in Your divine message rather than the shifting opinions of this world. Give me confidence in the gospel's heavenly origin and help me to share this unchanging truth with others. Amen.
