Marked By Love

Devotional
In ancient times, slaves and soldiers were branded with hot iron to show ownership. While this sounds harsh to us today, Paul embraced this imagery when he said he bore the marks of Jesus on his body. His scars from persecution weren't badges of shame, but proof of his devotion to Christ. Today, we don't carry physical brands, but our lives should still bear unmistakable marks of Christ's ownership. These marks aren't visible wounds, but transformed hearts that respond differently to life's challenges. When someone cuts us off in traffic, when we're criticized unfairly, or when we face disappointment - these moments reveal whose we really are. The beautiful truth is that Christ's marks on our lives aren't painful brands, but loving imprints of His grace. Every act of forgiveness, every moment of patience, every choice to love when it's difficult - these are the marks that show we belong to Jesus. They're not earned through our effort, but flow naturally from hearts that have been touched by His love.

Bible Verse
'From now on, don't let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.' - Galatians 6:17

Reflection Question
What 'marks' in your daily responses and choices reveal that you belong to Christ?
Quote Am I a true soldier for Christ? Am I bearing those same marks that Christ and Paul did?

Prayer
Lord, help me bear Your marks of love, grace, and forgiveness in my daily life. May others see You in how I respond to both joy and difficulty.
