Dead to Sin Alive IN CHIRST

Reading:
Romans 6:2–6

Devotional
The early church did not stumble into transformation. They chose it.

They understood that following Jesus meant dying to the old self so the resurrected life of Christ could take over.

Sometimes we continue carrying identities that were supposed to stay at the cross. We define ourselves by our failures, weaknesses, mistakes, or past when God is calling us to see ourselves through what Jesus has accomplished.

Romans 6 reminds us that our old self was crucified with Christ. Your past does not get the final word over your identity—Jesus does.

You don't have to keep answering to a name God isn't calling you.

Today, refuse the identity the enemy tries to assign you and begin walking confidently in the identity Christ purchased for you.

REFLECT

What old identity are you still carrying that Christ has already buried?

TAKE ACTION
Write down one label you have placed on yourself that contradicts what God says about you.

Now find a Scripture that replaces that label with God's truth.

Speak that truth aloud every morning this week.
