When God Interrupts The Ordinary

Devotional
Most of us have a routine. Wake up, go to work, come home, repeat. It feels safe, predictable, and honestly, a little comfortable. But some of the most significant moments in a person's life begin not with a grand plan, but with an unexpected interruption. Moses was not on a mission when God showed up. He was doing his job, watching sheep in the desert, having already given up on any sense of greater purpose. Forty years had passed since his big moment fell apart. He was not looking for a calling. He was just getting through the day. And then God interrupted Him. That pattern shows up all through Scripture. Noah, Abraham, Gideon, David, Isaiah. None of them were sitting around waiting for a divine assignment. God met them in the middle of the ordinary and redirected everything. Here is the encouraging part: if God could interrupt a discouraged shepherd in the middle of a desert, He can interrupt you in the middle of your Tuesday. You do not need to be in a special season or have everything figured out. You just need to be present enough to notice when something unusual is happening around you. Moses had to physically turn aside to look at the burning bush. He had to slow down and pay attention. God is still doing that today. He is still showing up in the middle of the ordinary, looking for someone willing to pause and pay attention.

Bible Verse
"It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king's anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible." - Hebrews 11:27 (New Living Translation (NLT))

Reflection Question
Where in your current routine might God already be trying to get your attention, and what would it look like to slow down enough to notice?

Quote
"Have you been interrupted ever by a glimpse from God? This is important. This is not a history lesson about Moses. This is God's word talking to us today. Because sometimes we need an interruption."

Prayer
Lord, help me slow down today and pay attention to what You are doing around me. Open my eyes to the interruptions You are placing in my path. Amen.
