Radical Commitment

Devotional
We stand at a crossroads every single day: radical commitment or mission drift. There's no middle ground, no neutral position. We're either moving toward God with intentional purpose, or we're slowly drifting away through neglect and compromise. Radical commitment doesn't mean perfection - it means wholehearted devotion despite our imperfections. It means choosing to rebuild our spiritual lives from the secret place of prayer and worship. It means using the resources God has already placed in our hands rather than waiting for perfect conditions. The Israelites had to make this choice. They could continue living comfortably in their paneled houses while God's temple remained in ruins, or they could respond to God's call with obedience and action. When they chose obedience, God promised His presence and partnership in the work. The same choice faces us today. We can continue drifting through spiritual mediocrity, or we can choose radical commitment. This commitment begins in the secret place - in our private prayer time, in our personal worship, in our individual study of God's Word. All rebuilding begins there. When we say yes to God's order and priorities, His Spirit stirs fresh fire within us. Obedience always precedes outpouring. The question isn't whether God is ready to work in our lives - He's always ready. The question is whether we're ready to align our lives with His purposes. Today, choose radical commitment. Your future self will thank you.
Bible Verse
'I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.' - Romans 12:1
Reflection Question
Looking at your current spiritual practices and priorities, would you honestly describe your relationship with God as 'radical commitment' or 'mission drift,' and what specific action will you take today to move toward deeper commitment?
Quote
We only have two choices. Radical commitment or mission drift.
Prayer
Lord, I choose radical commitment over comfortable drift. Help me present my life as a living sacrifice to You. Stir fresh fire in my heart and give me the courage to align every area of my life with Your purposes. I want to finish well. Amen.
