The Aroma Of Christ

Devotional
When Paul stood before King Agrippa, something remarkable happened. Though physically chained, his words carried the unmistakable fragrance of freedom. He wasn't just delivering information—he was emanating the very presence of Christ. Paul understood what he later wrote in 2 Corinthians 2:15: "For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing." As believers, we carry Christ's fragrance wherever we go. Some are drawn to this aroma, while others are repelled by it—but no one remains neutral. This explains the varied reactions to Paul's testimony. Festus thought Paul was insane, while Agrippa was almost persuaded. The same message produced different responses because the aroma of Christ affects people differently based on their spiritual condition. When we live authentically for Christ, we become living invitations for others to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8). Our transformed lives, joyful spirits, and peace amid difficulties become tangible evidence of God's goodness. Today, remember that you're not just sharing information about Jesus—you're carrying His very presence. Let His aroma permeate your words, actions, and attitudes.

Bible Verse
"For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing." - 2 Corinthians 2:15

Reflection Question
How might viewing yourself as "the aroma of Christ" change your approach to everyday interactions with non-believers?

Quote

"We're God's barbecue. We bring the very taste of God, the very aroma of God. Bring it with us wherever we go. The people begin to taste how good God is from what comes out of our life."

Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for allowing me to carry Your fragrance into a world that desperately needs You. May my life be so filled with Your presence that others are drawn to You through me. Help me represent You faithfully in every conversation and relationship. Use me to help others taste and see Your goodness. Amen.
