Building From The Inside Out

Devotional
Have you ever tried to fix something on the outside while ignoring what was broken on the inside? Maybe you've painted over rust, or put a bandage on a wound that needed deeper healing. We often approach our lives the same way - trying to fix our external circumstances while our hearts remain broken and unhealed. The truth is, lasting change must begin within us. When our hearts are anchored in God's love and truth, we develop an unshakeable foundation that can withstand any storm. This isn't about positive thinking or self-help strategies - it's about allowing God to rebuild us from the ground up. Think about a tree that survives hurricanes. Its strength doesn't come from its branches or leaves, but from its deep root system. Similarly, when we're rooted in God's love, we can weather any circumstance because our stability comes from Him, not from our external situation. God wants to do more than just help you cope with life's challenges. He wants to transform you from the inside out, giving you a strength and peace that doesn't depend on your circumstances. When your heart is right with God, everything else begins to align. Your relationships improve, your perspective changes, and you find yourself able to handle situations that once overwhelmed you. This process takes time and requires surrendering control to God. But when we allow Him to work in our hearts, we discover that we're not just surviving life's difficulties - we're being equipped to thrive in the midst of them.

Bible Verse
'Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.' - Joshua 1:3

Reflection Question
What areas of your life are you trying to fix externally while avoiding the heart work that God wants to do within you?

Quote
Before we can fix the ruins on the outside of our life, we got to fix the ruins on the inside of us, in our heart.

Prayer

Lord, help me to stop trying to fix my life in my own strength. I surrender my heart to You and ask You to rebuild me from the inside out. Give me the courage to let You work in the deep places of my heart. Amen.
