Look To The Cross

Devotional
Sometimes our problems feel too big for God to handle. We look at our circumstances and think, "This is beyond even divine intervention." But there's a cure for this kind of thinking, and it's found at the cross. When you're tempted to believe that what you're facing is too difficult for God, look at the cross and remember what He accomplished there. The weight of all human sin, the separation between holy God and fallen humanity, the curse of death itself - Jesus handled it all. If He could handle that, He can handle whatever you're facing. The cross isn't just about forgiveness, though that would be enough. It's also about power - the power to overcome what seems impossible. It's about love - a love so deep that God would sacrifice His own Son for you. It's about victory - triumph over the greatest enemies humanity has ever faced. Your current struggle, no matter how overwhelming it feels, pales in comparison to what Jesus conquered on the cross. Your financial crisis? He's got it. Your health scare? He's bigger than it. Your broken relationship? He specializes in restoration. Your uncertain future? He holds it in His hands. Don't let the size of your problem convince you that God is too small. Instead, let the size of the cross convince you that no problem is too big for Him.
Bible Verse
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8
Reflection Question
How does remembering what Jesus accomplished on the cross change your perspective on the challenges you're currently facing?
Quote
If you think whatever you are facing, this is what Habakkuk was doing. And I want to encourage you to do this. If you think that what you're facing looks like a pretty hard thing for God to handle, then look at the cross and say, well, he handled that. And if he handled that, he can handle what I'm facing and what you're facing.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for what You accomplished on the cross. When my problems feel too big, help me to remember that You conquered sin, death, and hell itself. Nothing I face is too difficult for You. Amen.
