Remembering What We Know

Devotional
When we're drowning in questions and circumstances that don't make sense, it's easy to forget the solid ground beneath our feet. But there's power in returning to what we absolutely know to be true about God and His work in our lives. Think about your own story for a moment. Can you remember a time when you were spiritually lost, wandering without direction or purpose? Can you recall the darkness of living without hope, the weight of guilt and shame that once defined you? These aren't just memories - they're testimonies of God's transforming power. The truth is, we were lost and now we're found. We were blind to spiritual realities and now we see. We were bound by sin and destructive patterns, and now we've been set free. These fundamental truths about God's work in our lives provide an unshakeable foundation for trust, even when current circumstances are confusing. When we're overwhelmed by problems, it's often because we're looking from the bottom up instead of from the top down. We're so focused on our immediate struggles that we lose sight of the bigger picture of God's faithfulness. But when we remember His past interventions, His consistent love, His proven track record in our lives, it becomes easier to trust Him with our current unknowns. This isn't about ignoring real problems or pretending everything is fine. It's about anchoring our faith in the bedrock of God's demonstrated love and power, which gives us stability when the storms of life threaten to overwhelm us.

Bible Verse
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." - Proverbs 3:9-10

Reflection Question
What specific ways has God demonstrated His faithfulness in your past that can serve as anchors for your trust during current uncertainties?

Quote
The one thing I always go back to, what I do know is this. I was lost and now I'm found. I was blind and now I see. I was bound in sin and now I've been set free. That alone allows me to trust God even when I don't understand what he's doing.

Prayer

Thank You, God, for the ways You've already transformed my life. When I'm tempted to doubt Your goodness because of current struggles, remind me of how You've rescued, healed, and provided for me before. Let these memories strengthen my faith today. Amen.
