Healing From The Inside Out

Devotional
Many of us move through life carrying invisible wounds. We may appear fine on the outside—attending work, maintaining relationships, even participating in church—while internally wrestling with past traumas that keep us from truly living. We become, as today's quote describes, "alive but zombies, just going through the motions." The prophet Amos spoke to people in a similar condition. They were prosperous and religious, yet spiritually dead because they had disconnected their faith from how they lived. God's remedy was simple but profound: "Seek me and live" (Amos 5:4). This invitation remains open to us today. When we've been wounded by others or by circumstances beyond our control, our natural response might be to shut down emotionally, to seek revenge, or to pass our pain onto others. But God offers another way—turning to Him for the healing that only He can provide. The transformation of Rwanda illustrates this possibility. After experiencing unimaginable horror during the 1994 genocide, the nation embraced a motto of "mercy and justice" and has become remarkably focused on healing. This demonstrates that restoration is possible even after the deepest trauma. Today, whatever wounds you carry, know that Christ offers healing beyond your own capacity to recover. Turn to Him and begin to truly live again.
Bible Verse
"For thus says the LORD to the house of Israel: 'Seek me and live.'" - Amos 5:4-6
Reflection Question
What area of woundedness or trauma might God be inviting you to bring to Him for healing today?
Quote
The things that have been done to us in our own strength are unforgivable. In our own power we cannot heal. The traumas that have been done to some of us in here today are beyond our ability to get past them, to get beyond them. Only through Christ can we live again.
Prayer
God of all comfort, I bring my wounds and scars to You today. The things done to me feel unforgivable, and in my own strength, I cannot heal. Thank You that through Christ, I can live again. Begin Your healing work in me today, that I might experience the fullness of life You intend. Amen.
