Discipleship Family Ties

Scripture Reading: 
Then he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful.” — Esther 2:7

Reflection:
Mordecai saw Esther’s beauty but recognized something deeper—the potential for a life that could serve God’s purposes. Discipleship often requires seeing beyond the surface and recognizing the gifts, talents, and potential God has placed in those around us. Mordecai saw Esther as an orphan and someone who could fulfill a divine role.

Pray for God to give insight into the unique gifts of those you are discipling. How can you encourage and nurture these qualities? Consider one practical way to affirm someone’s potential today.
