Discipleship/Friendship: David & Jonathan

Reflection:
Despite being the king’s son and rightful heir, Jonathan put David’s calling above his ambitions. Selflessness in discipleship means we are willing to take a back seat, encouraging and celebrating the growth and success of those we disciple without seeking recognition.

Application:
Today, examine your motives in discipleship. Ask God to help you develop a selfless heart and genuinely celebrate the progress and successes of those you lead. Pray for humility to step aside and encourage others in their God-given callings.
