Generational Discipleship
Scripture Reading:
Genesis 22:16-17
"Because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your son, your only son, I swear by my own name that I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore."
Reflection:
Abraham’s faith was tested when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac, the promised son. His willingness to surrender what he held most dear demonstrated a depth of trust in God. God rewarded his faith by affirming the covenant and promising to multiply his descendants. Discipleship often requires us to give up our own plans to follow God’s.
Application:
Is there something in your life that you need to surrender to God? Trust that as you lay it down, God will provide and work out His greater plan for you and those you lead.
