Grace Alone

Devotional
Grace and law are like oil and water - they simply don't mix. When we try to add anything to grace, we create an explosive situation that destroys the very freedom Christ died to give us. Grace stands alone, pure and complete, requiring nothing but faith in Jesus Christ. The moment we start adding rules, performance standards, or religious requirements, we've fallen from grace and returned to bondage. This is why so many believers feel exhausted in their faith - they're trying to mix what cannot be mixed. Grace says, 'It is finished.' Law says, 'You must do more.' Grace says, 'You are loved as you are.' Law says, 'You must earn acceptance.' The beauty of grace is its simplicity: faith in Jesus Christ alone. No additions, no modifications, no fine print. When we truly understand this, we stop striving and start resting. We stop performing and start receiving. We stop earning and start enjoying the relationship God freely offers us through His Son.

Bible Verse
'All who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."' - Galatians 3:10

Reflection Question
What are you trying to add to grace in your own life, and how can you return to the simplicity of faith in Christ alone?

Quote
We can't mix grace and law. They don't mix. Grace cannot be mixed with any. Can't add anything to it. It's just faith in Jesus Christ and faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Prayer
Lord, help me rest in Your grace alone. Remove any tendency to add to what You've already completed through Christ.
