Living 'Not My Will, But Yours'

Devotional
True discipleship isn't a one-time decision – it's a daily choice to surrender our will to God's will. Every morning, we face the same fundamental question: Will I live for myself today, or will I live for Jesus? The answer to this question shapes every conversation, decision, and interaction we have. Living "not my will, but yours" doesn't mean we become passive or lose our voice. It means we align our desires with God's heart and trust that His ways are higher than our ways. When we face difficult decisions, relationship conflicts, or unexpected challenges, our first response becomes "Lord, what would You have me do?" This daily surrender transforms us from the inside out. We become people who respond with grace instead of anger, who choose forgiveness over bitterness, and who seek to serve rather than be served. It's not always easy, but it's always worth it because we're becoming more like Jesus with each surrendered choice.

Bible Verse
"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts." - Hebrews 3:15

Reflection Question

What specific area of your life do you need to surrender to God's will today?

Quote
Our daily prayer of a disciple, of a true disciple is this, Lord, not my will, but yours.

Prayer
Lord, help me start each day with surrendered hands and an open heart. May my daily prayer be 'not my will, but Yours be done.'
