The Beautiful Balance of Clinging

Devotional
Mary Magdalene experienced something extraordinary that morning at the tomb. After the devastating loss of Jesus, she suddenly found Him alive again. Her instinct was to hold on tight, to never let this moment end. Can you imagine her relief and joy? Yet Jesus gently redirected her, not because their relationship didn't matter, but because love has a way of expanding beyond ourselves. Our relationship with Jesus begins with clinging - that deep, personal connection where we spend time in His presence, get to know His heart, and allow His character to shape us. This isn't selfish; it's essential. Just as Mary needed to know Jesus intimately to share His resurrection with others, we need that foundation of authentic relationship. When we truly cling to Jesus, something beautiful happens. His light begins to shine through us, transforming not just our hearts but our very presence in the world. We become different people - more loving, more patient, more hopeful. This transformation isn't the end goal; it's the beginning of something even greater.

Bible Verse
'Mary!' Jesus said. She turned to him and cried out, 'Rabboni!' (which is Hebrew for 'Teacher'). 'Don't cling to me,' Jesus said, 'for I haven't yet ascended to the Father. But go find my brothers and tell them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'' - John 20:16-17 (NLT)
