Fighting For Those You Love

Devotional
Love compels us to fight. Paul didn't casually end his letter to the Galatians—he contended for their souls like a shepherd protecting his flock. When we truly love someone, we can't sit comfortably while they drift away from truth or remain lost in darkness. This kind of spiritual warfare requires courage, persistence, and genuine care. It means having difficult conversations, praying fervently, and refusing to give up on people even when they push back. Too often, we become content with our own spiritual comfort while family members, friends, and coworkers perish without Christ. But love won't let us rest easy. It drives us to pursue people with the gospel, to disciple them in truth, and to leave a lasting legacy in their lives. Sometimes this means calling more often than they'd like, showing up when it's inconvenient, or speaking truth when it's uncomfortable. The question isn't whether people will appreciate our efforts—it's whether we love them enough to fight for their eternal destiny.

Bible Verse

'My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!' - Galatians 4:19-20

Reflection Question
Who in your life needs you to contend for their soul, and what specific steps will you take to pursue them with Christ's love?

Quote
Sometimes you gotta fight for the people that you love.

Prayer
Father, give me the heart of a spiritual parent who fights for those I love. Help me pursue others with Your love, even when it's difficult or uncomfortable.
