From Light Receiver to Light Bearer

Devotional
Jesus made two remarkable statements about light. First, He declared, "I am the light of the world." Then, amazingly, He told His followers, "You are the light of the world." How did we transition from being in darkness to becoming light itself? The answer lies in our connection to Him. When we cling to Jesus, we don't just learn about light - we become light. It's like standing so close to a bright lamp that we begin to glow ourselves. His character, His love, His truth becomes so much a part of us that others can see it radiating from our lives. This transformation isn't something we manufacture or fake. It's the natural result of spending time with the Source of all light. Just as the moon reflects the sun's light in the darkness, we reflect Jesus' light in a world that desperately needs hope. The beautiful truth is that this light isn't meant to be hidden under a basket but shared with everyone around us. Your workplace, your neighborhood, your family - these are all places where your light can shine. You don't need a seminary degree or a missionary calling to be a light bearer. You just need to stay connected to the Light Himself.
Bible Verse
'You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.' - Matthew 5:14 (NLT)
Reflection Question
Where in your daily life do you sense God calling you to let His light shine more brightly through you?
Quote
Jesus said two statements. He said, I am the light of the world. And then he said this. You are the light of the world. How did I get to be light of the world? By clinging to him.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for making me a light bearer in this world. Help me to shine Your love and truth wherever You place me today.
