Identifying What Holds You Back

Devotional
Every gardener knows that for a plant to flourish, weeds must be removed. They compete for nutrients, block sunlight, and stunt growth. Similarly, there are things in our lives that prevent us from reaching our full potential in Christ. These 'weeds' aren't always obvious sins. Sometimes they're habits that seem harmless, thought patterns that feel normal, or relationships that appear beneficial. But if they're keeping you from flourishing spiritually, they need to be addressed. Maybe it's the compromise you make when no one's looking, the toxic relationship you're afraid to end, or the victim mindset that keeps you stuck. The key is honest self-examination. What patterns in your life consistently lead you away from God's best? What relationships drain your spiritual energy? What habits make you feel distant from the Lord? These aren't necessarily evil things, but they might be good things that have become God things in your life. Recognizing these barriers is the first step toward freedom. You can't change what you won't acknowledge.

Bible Verse
'Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.' - Galatians 4:28

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom to identify anything in my life that's hindering my spiritual growth. Grant me courage to address what You reveal.
