Sent Into the Harvest

Scripture Reading:
Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 1:8; Luke 10:2
Devotional:
What if the greatest opportunity God gives you this week happens outside the walls of the church?
We often associate ministry with Sunday services, church programs, organized outreach events, or standing behind a pulpit. But Jesus never limited the Great Commission to a building.
He told His followers to go and make disciples. Paul understood this calling. Even when faced with persecution, imprisonment, and opposition, he remained committed to sharing the gospel. That same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church is still at work in believers today.
The harvest is not simply waiting in another country or at a scheduled outreach event. It is in our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, grocery stores, and everyday conversations.
It may be the coworker who seems unusually quiet, the neighbor who is struggling, the parent who needs encouragement, or the stranger who simply needs someone to listen.
We sometimes hesitate because we feel unprepared, unqualified, or unsure of what to say.
But God is not asking us to have every answer. He is calling us to be available, obedient, and sensitive to the leading of His Spirit.
You do not need a platform to make an eternal impact. You need a willing heart.
As we close this week's devotional, remember that finding peace in Christ is not the end of our journey. His peace equips us to carry His love into a world that desperately needs hope.We were not called simply to receive His goodness. We were called to share it.
Reflection:
Are you intentionally looking for opportunities to share God's love, or have you become so focused on your daily routine that you are overlooking the people He has placed around you?
Daily Challenge:
Before leaving home, ask the Holy Spirit to make you aware of someone who needs encouragement. Carry a handwritten Scripture or short note with you and prayerfully look for an opportunity to share it. Be willing to listen, pray, or simply demonstrate the love of Jesus through a thoughtful act of kindness.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me to be part of Your work. Open my eyes to the people around me who need hope, encouragement, and the message of Jesus Christ. Remove fear and hesitation from my heart. Fill me with boldness, compassion, and sensitivity to Your Holy Spirit. Let my words and actions reflect Your love wherever I go. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Take Flight Reminder:
The harvest is ready. The question is, are you willing to go?
