THE HARVEST BELONGS TO THE LORD
Scripture Reading:
Matthew 9:35–38
Devotional:
The harvest is not simply a program, a church event, or a season of celebration. The harvest is people.
Every day, we encounter individuals who are searching for hope, direction, healing, and the love of Christ. Jesus looked upon the crowds and was moved with compassion because they were weary and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.
Before Jesus instructed His disciples to pray for laborers, He demonstrated compassion. His heart for people came before His call to action.
The work of sharing the Gospel does not begin with a strategy. It begins with seeing people the way God sees them.
When we allow God's compassion to shape our hearts, serving others becomes more than an obligation. It becomes an opportunity to demonstrate His love.
The harvest is plentiful, and God continues to call willing hearts to participate in His work. The question is not whether there are people who need Him. The question is whether we are willing to respond.
Reflection:
Am I seeing the people around me through God's eyes, or have I become too distracted to recognize their needs?
Today's Application:
Ask God to place one person on your heart who needs encouragement, prayer, or an encounter with His love. Pray for that person throughout the week and look for an opportunity to reach out.
Prayer:
Lord, give me a heart filled with compassion for others. Open my eyes to those who are hurting, searching, or feeling forgotten. Help me become a willing laborer in Your harvest, sharing Your love through my words and actions. In Jesus' name, Amen.
