Something is still missing

Devotional
You said yes to Jesus. Maybe you've experienced the Holy Spirit. But there's still this quiet ache, this sense that something isn't quite complete. You're not alone in that feeling, and you're not broken for having it. Here's what many believers never fully discover: God wants to be known as Father. Not just Creator. Not just Judge. Father. And not in a distant, formal way either. He wants the kind of closeness where you run to Him without hesitation, the way a small child runs to a parent. Many of us received Jesus as Savior because we knew we needed rescuing. That was real and it mattered. But the journey doesn't stop there. God is inviting you deeper, into a relationship where you are known, named, and fully belonging. The emptiness you feel isn't a sign that faith isn't working. It might actually be an invitation. An invitation to know God in a way you haven't yet, as the Father who has always been for you. You don't have to earn your way into His house. You already have a place there. That place has your name on it, and He's been waiting for you to walk through the door.

Bible Verse
"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." - Romans 8:14 (New Living Translation (NLT))

Reflection Question
If you're honest with yourself, have you been relating to God more as a distant authority figure than as a loving Father who is personally for you?

Quote
"We received Jesus as Savior. We know we need a Savior. We come to that place of brokenness in our life when everything is fallen apart and we need salvation. We need a Savior. And then we learn about the Holy Spirit. But something is still missing because a lot of us are still struggling with insecurity."

Prayer
Father, I admit there are parts of my heart that haven't fully known You as Dad. Open my eyes to see You clearly, and draw me closer to You today. Amen.
