FILLED TO OVERFLOW — RECEIVING AND GIVING LOVE

Scripture Reading:
1 John 4:19
Devotional:
We love because God first loved us.
This simple truth reminds us that genuine love begins with Him. We are not called to manufacture love through our own strength. Instead, we are invited to receive His love daily and allow it to overflow into the lives of others.
Just as an empty vessel cannot pour out what it does not contain, our spiritual lives require continual renewal in God's presence.
When we make time for prayer, worship, Scripture, and fellowship with Him, our hearts become refreshed and our perspective begins to change.
The love we receive privately should become evident publicly—in our homes, workplaces, churches, and communities.
Our patience grows. Our compassion deepens. Our willingness to forgive increases. We become more intentional about encouraging others and extending grace.
The world does not simply need more religious activity. It needs people whose lives genuinely reflect the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
As we continue to take flight in our spiritual journey, may we never forget that the strength to soar begins with remaining connected to the One who first loved us.
Reflection:
Am I consistently allowing God to fill my heart with His love, or have I been trying to pour into others while spiritually running on empty?
Today's Application:
Before beginning each morning, pray this simple prayer: "Lord, fill me with Your love today so that I have something real to give." Be intentional about demonstrating that love in every interaction.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for loving me first and loving me unconditionally. Fill my heart daily with Your presence, compassion, and grace. Remove anything that prevents Your love from flowing freely through my life. May everyone I encounter experience a reflection of Your goodness through me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
