THE FATHER TO THE FATHERLESS

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 68:5–6

Devotional:
God's love for the vulnerable is woven throughout Scripture. He sees the forgotten, comforts the lonely, defends the helpless, and provides belonging for those who feel abandoned.

He is a Father to the fatherless and a defender of widows.
What a beautiful reminder that no one is invisible to God!

His compassion extends beyond words. Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to demonstrate His love by caring for those who are hurting, overlooked, or without support.

Sometimes we imagine that making a difference requires traveling across the world or participating in a large ministry effort. While God may call some to those opportunities, He also places people directly in our everyday lives who need to experience His kindness.

There may be a child who needs encouragement, a widow who needs companionship, a family facing hardship, or someone who simply needs to know they belong.

As members of God's family, we have the privilege of becoming an extension of His compassion.

Reflection:
Who has God placed in my life that may be feeling lonely, overlooked, or in need of encouragement and belonging?

Today's Application:
Identify one local ministry or organization that supports vulnerable children, widows, or families in need. Consider one practical way you can help through prayer, giving, volunteering, or personal encouragement.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a loving Father who sees and cares for every person. Give me a compassionate heart toward those who are vulnerable, lonely, or forgotten. Use my life to demonstrate Your kindness and help others experience the belonging found in Your family. In Jesus' name, Amen.
