Stop Looking Back!

Scripture Reading:
Philippians 3:12–14
“...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” —

You cannot fully embrace where God is taking you while constantly holding on to where you've been.

Some of us are carrying yesterday's disappointments, mistakes, regrets, and wounds. Others are holding tightly to past victories, unwilling to move beyond what God accomplished in a previous season.

But Paul reminds us that the Christian journey requires forward movement.

Your past may explain part of your story, but it does not have to determine your future.
Every challenge you've survived can become a testimony of God's faithfulness. Every difficult season can teach you perseverance. Even the mistakes you've made can become opportunities for growth through God's grace.

Forgetting what lies behind doesn't mean pretending it never happened. It means refusing to allow yesterday to control tomorrow.

Forgive where forgiveness is needed. Release what you cannot change. Learn from what you've experienced.

God is still writing your story, and there is more ahead!

Reflection:
What memory, disappointment, relationship, or past accomplishment am I allowing to keep me from moving forward?

Today's Challenge:
Write down one thing from your past that you've struggled to release. Pray over it, surrender it to God, and take one practical step toward moving forward.

Closing Prayer:
Father, help me release what belongs to yesterday. Heal the wounds I've carried and free me from regret, unforgiveness, and fear. Give me courage to embrace the future You are preparing for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
