Prayer as the Faucet

Think about a faucet.

The faucet doesn't create the water. It simply releases what is already available.

Prayer works in a similar way.

Prayer doesn't manufacture God's power. Prayer positions our hearts to receive, recognize, and participate in what God is doing.

Sometimes spiritually dry seasons aren't because God has disappeared.

Maybe we've simply stopped turning the faucet.

Philippians 4 tells us to bring everything to God through prayer. And when we do, His peace begins guarding our hearts and minds.

The supply hasn't run dry.
God is still present.
God is still listening.
God is still moving.

Turn the faucet.

What area of your life have you stopped praying about because somewhere along the way you stopped expecting God to respond?

TAKE ACTION
Identify one situation you've stopped bringing to God.

Bring it back into prayer this week.

Write down exactly what you're believing God for and begin praying over it with fresh expectation.

Then watch for how God responds.
