On Eagles Wings

Deuteronomy 32:11 — “Like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them aloft.”

There is something powerful about the picture God gives us of the eagle.
An eagle doesn't simply watch its young from a distance. It hovers near them. It spreads its wings. It positions itself beneath them.

What feels like falling to the eaglet is actually part of learning to fly.

And underneath the entire experience is the strength of the parent.
This gives us a beautiful picture of God's care for us.

There will be seasons when it feels as though everything underneath you has disappeared. The security you depended on changes. The familiar becomes uncomfortable. What once felt stable suddenly feels uncertain.

And your first thought may be:
“God, I'm falling!”

But God has not abandoned you.

He is closer than you realize.

God does not observe your struggle from a distance. He positions Himself beneath you so that even when your strength fails, His does not.

The eaglet doesn't earn the wings beneath it. Those wings are simply there because it belongs to the one carrying it.

Your ability to soar will never ultimately depend upon your strength, talent, resources, or ability to hold everything together.

It depends upon the faithfulness of God.
Perhaps what feels like falling today is actually God teaching you that His wings have been underneath you all along.

Can you identify a season when God was carrying you even though, at the time, it felt like you were falling?
Looking back now, where can you see His protection or provision?

? Practical Application
Write down three specific moments when God's hand was evident in your life during a difficult season.

Beside each one, write:
“God carried me here.”
Then thank Him specifically for each moment.

? Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for carrying me when I didn't have the strength to carry myself. Thank You for being present even in moments when I thought I was falling. Help me trust that Your wings are beneath me. When fear tells me I am alone, remind me of every place where You have already proven Yourself faithful. Teach me to rest in Your strength instead of depending only on my own. In Jesus' name, amen.
