The Promised Land Is Still Ahead

? Today’s Reading
Joshua 1:1–9; Numbers 13:30; Philippians 4:13

Key Verse:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9

?️ Devotional: Your Giants Don't Get the Final Word
The wilderness was never Israel's final destination.

There was always a Promised Land ahead.

But between the wilderness and the promise stood giants.

When the spies entered Canaan, they all saw the same land. They saw the same obstacles. They saw the same fortified cities—and they saw the same giants.

Yet Caleb responded differently.

He wasn't pretending the giants weren't real.

He simply believed his God was greater.

Faith doesn't require you to deny reality.

Faith requires you to recognize that God is greater than the reality standing in front of you.

Joshua 1:9 doesn't promise an easy journey. Instead, God gives Joshua something better:

His presence.

“Be strong and courageous” wasn't motivational language. It was a command rooted in a promise:

“The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Maybe you've spent too much time measuring your giant.

Its size.

Its history.

Its difficulty.

Its impossibility.

But you've forgotten to measure it against your God.

The wilderness didn't disqualify you.

The waiting didn't disqualify you.

The mistakes didn't disqualify you.

The battles didn't disqualify you.

God has been preparing you.

Day 1 taught us the wilderness has purpose.

Day 2 reminded us God provides daily.

Day 3 showed us God's glory appears in hard places.

Day 4 revealed that God is transforming our hearts.

And now Day 5 reminds us:

The wilderness is not the destination. Keep walking. The promise is still ahead.

? Personal Reflection
What giant have you been using as a reason to delay stepping into what God has called you to do or become?

Then ask yourself:

“What would I do next if I truly believed God was going with me?”

Begin praying.

Whatever your step is, take it.

It doesn't have to be enormous.

It simply has to be obedient.

Small acts of obedience develop the courage required for larger ones.

?? Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that my wilderness is not my final destination. Thank You for every lesson, every provision, every moment of Your presence, and every area where You have transformed my heart along the way. Give me courage to face what stands between me and what You have called me to do. Help me stop magnifying my giants and start magnifying You. I choose faith over fear, obedience over hesitation, and forward movement over returning to what You delivered me from. I believe You are with me, and because You are with me, I can move forward courageously. In Jesus' name, Amen.

? Today’s Reminder
Your wilderness isn't your destination, and your giants don't determine your outcome. Keep walking—the God who brought you out is still leading you forward. ?️➡️?️??
