God Provides In The Wilderness

? Today’s Reading
Exodus 16:9–21
Key Verse:
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you.’”
— Exodus 16:4
? Devotional: Grace for Today
Yesterday, we discovered that the wilderness has a purpose. Today, we discover something equally important:
God doesn't send us into the wilderness without providing what we need while we're there.
When Israel became hungry, the people complained. Yet God responded with provision. He sent manna in the morning and quail in the evening.
But there was an important instruction attached to the manna: Gather what you need for today.
God could have provided a month's supply at once. Instead, He created a daily rhythm that required Israel to wake up every morning trusting that He would provide again.
The lesson wasn't merely about food.
It was about dependence.
Sometimes we want God to give us everything we will need for the next year so we never have to wonder, wait, pray, or trust. But God often gives us daily bread rather than yearly guarantees.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God supplies our needs according to His riches in glory—not according to our bank account, resources, connections, circumstances, or ability to see a solution.
God's supply comes from an inexhaustible source.
So stop borrowing tomorrow's worry.
You don't need tomorrow's manna today.
You need enough grace, strength, wisdom, peace, and provision for today.
And tomorrow?
God will still be God.
? Personal Reflection
In what area of your life are you hoarding worry about tomorrow instead of trusting God for today?
Ask yourself:
Am I trying to solve tomorrow before I have trusted God with today?
✍? Today’s Practical Application
Identify one specific need you have been anxious about.
Each morning this week, pray over that need before beginning your day.
Then intentionally release it:
“God, I trust You to provide what I need, when I need it.”
Whenever worry returns, remind yourself:
Tomorrow's manna will arrive tomorrow.
?? Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for being my Provider. Forgive me for the times I have allowed tomorrow's uncertainties to steal today's peace. Teach me to depend on You daily. When I cannot see where the provision will come from, remind me that my circumstances do not determine Your resources. Give me the grace, wisdom, strength, and provision I need for today. I surrender tomorrow into Your hands and choose to trust You again. In Jesus' name, Amen.
? Today’s Reminder
You don't need tomorrow's provision today. Trust the God who provided yesterday to meet you again today. ???
