God Calls The Unready

Devotional
Most of us are waiting to feel ready before we take a step of faith. We tell ourselves that once we have more experience, more confidence, or more resources, then we will say yes to what God is asking. But Moses was not ready when God called Him. He was a shepherd in the middle of nowhere, carrying the weight of past failure, and God called Him anyway. That is not an accident. It is actually God's pattern. He does not wait for us to be fully prepared before He calls us forward. He calls us forward so that He can prepare us along the way. The growth happens in the stepping out, not in the waiting. Think about the areas of your life where you have been holding back, telling yourself you are just not ready yet. What if God is already inviting you into something, and the readiness comes on the other side of your yes? You do not need to have it all figured out. You just need to take the next step. God is not looking for the most qualified person in the room. He is looking for the willing one. He enables the unable. He equips the unqualified. That is who He is, and that is what He does.

Bible Verse
I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. - Philippians 4:13 (New Living Translation (NLT))

Reflection Question
Is there something God has been nudging you toward that you have been putting off until you feel more ready, and what would it take for you to say yes today?

Quote
God will call you when you're not ready. Don't think that you're just waiting till you're ready. No, God calls you when you're not ready. Because guess what? He changes you when you step out.

Prayer
God, I confess that I have been waiting to feel ready instead of trusting that You are enough. Give me the courage to take the next step, knowing that You will equip me as I go. Amen.
