You Can't Outrun Your Calling

Devotional
Have you ever felt like you were running from something God placed on your heart? Maybe it was a conversation you kept avoiding, a step of faith you kept postponing, or a dream you quietly buried because it felt too big or too risky. Moses did the same thing. After a painful failure, he ran. He settled into a quieter, safer life far from everything he once knew. And then God showed up in a burning bush that simply would not stop burning. God was not done with Moses, and He is not done with you either. No matter how far you have gone, no matter how long you have been running, God has a way of showing up right where you are. He does not need you to find your way back to Him. He comes to you. The wilderness seasons of life, the ones that feel like detours or dead ends, are often where God does His deepest work. Moses spent years in the desert before he ever stood before Pharaoh. Those years were not wasted. They were preparation. If you feel like you are in a wilderness right now, take heart. God is not absent. He is present, and He is working. Your calling has not expired. He is still calling your name.
Bible Verse
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. - Isaiah 40:31 (New Living Translation (NLT))
Reflection Question
What area of your life have you been running from, and what would it look like to stop and let God meet you right where you are?
Quote
We can't outrun our calling. We can't outrun God. God is faster than we are. He doesn't even have to run. He just shows up.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for never giving up on me, even when I have run from what You placed in my heart. Help me to stop running and trust that You are already present in the place You are calling me to. Amen.
