The Small Moments Are the Training Ground

Devotional
Most divine interruptions do not look dramatic. They do not come with fire or a voice from heaven. They look like a conversation you did not plan, a nudge to check on a friend when your schedule is already packed, or a small opportunity that feels almost too ordinary to matter. But those small moments are not distractions from your purpose. They are the preparation for it. Moses had to physically turn aside to see the burning bush. He had to choose to stop what he was doing and pay attention. That small act of turning was the beginning of everything. God works the same way today. He watches what you do with the little before He entrusts you with the much. The interruptions that feel like inconveniences are often the very moments He is using to shape you, test your availability, and build your trust in Him. When you respond faithfully to the small prompting, you are not just being kind or helpful. You are practicing obedience. You are building the kind of responsiveness that makes you ready for bigger things. Do not wait for a burning bush moment to start saying yes to God. Start with the small interruption in front of you today. Answer the nudge. Make the call. Have the conversation. Those moments matter more than they appear, and God is paying attention to every one of them.
Bible Verse
"Then the Lord said to Him, 'Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.'" - Exodus 4:11-12 (New Living Translation (NLT))
Reflection Question
What small interruption or quiet prompting have you been brushing aside lately, and what might God be trying to develop in you through it?
Quote
"He ain't giving you the much till he watches what you do with the little. So you've got to start looking at these little opportunities and realize, just do it."
Prayer
Lord, help me take the small moments seriously today. Teach me to be faithful in the little things so I am ready when You call me to something greater. Amen.
