The Altitude of Humility

Take Flight Series

📖 In Philippians 2:1–11, Paul presents one of the clearest pictures of humility found in all of Scripture. Though Jesus was fully God, He willingly laid aside His privileges, took on the form of a servant, and humbled Himself even to the point of death on a cross. Because of His obedience and humility, God highly exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name.

The world often teaches that greatness comes through self-promotion, recognition, and personal achievement. God's Kingdom operates by a different set of principles. In God's economy, higher elevation comes through lower posture. The pathway to influence is humility. The road to spiritual maturity is surrender. Jesus demonstrated that true greatness is not found in demanding to be served, but in willingly serving others.

Join Pastor Steve Rahter as he teaches The Altitude of Humility. In this message from the Take Flight Series, you will discover that true spiritual flight is never powered by pride, performance, ambition, or self-promotion. It is fueled by a heart that is fully surrendered to God. Christ's example calls believers to put aside selfish ambition, embrace servanthood, and seek God's glory above their own.

This message will challenge believers to examine their motives, attitudes, and relationships through the lens of Christ's humility. The higher God desires to take His people, the deeper He must first work humility into their lives. Lasting spiritual influence is not built upon personal achievement but upon Christlike character. When believers follow the example of Jesus, they position themselves for God's favor, purpose, and exaltation in His timing.
