Sharing The Treasure

Devotional
The gospel is too good to keep to ourselves. When we truly understand the transformative power of Jesus Christ, sharing becomes natural—even urgent. In a world of 8 billion people, the opportunities to share are endless. Unlike the first century, when populations were sparse, today we encounter countless individuals who need the hope only Jesus offers. Every person you pass on the street, interact with online, or meet in your daily routines is someone Jesus loves and died to save. The Holy Spirit empowers us specifically for this purpose—to be effective witnesses. When Jesus commissioned His disciples in Mark 16, He promised supernatural signs would accompany those who believe. These aren't just for our benefit but serve as compelling evidence of the gospel's truth. When we remain silent, we withhold a treasure that could transform lives. Heaven itself responds when we open our mouths to share the good news. As one pastor vividly described, angels stand ready to move when we simply speak up about Jesus. This doesn't mean everyone must preach to crowds. Your witness might be a quiet conversation with a coworker, a prayer for a sick friend, or an act of extraordinary kindness that opens a door to share your faith. The key is recognizing that the treasure you possess—the life-changing gospel—was never meant to be hoarded but shared generously. Today, ask the Holy Spirit to show you one person with whom you can share the treasure of the gospel.
Bible Verse
"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." - Mark 16:17-18
Reflection Question
What fears or hesitations have kept you from more boldly sharing the gospel, and how might embracing the Holy Spirit's power help you overcome these barriers?
Quote
People are waiting to hear the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. The transformative power of the Holy Spirit. You have it and you holding it to yourself. This treasure is not just for you. It's for you to share.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I've kept the treasure of the gospel to myself. Thank You for entrusting me with such a precious gift. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit's power to be an effective witness. Give me boldness to speak and opportunities to demonstrate Your love and power to those around me. May I never hoard what You've freely given me to share. In Jesus' name, amen.
